The Challenge
Our clients had lived with their original 1990s bathroom for over 25 years. While functional, it no longer met the needs of their growing family. The dated avocado suite, worn flooring, and inefficient layout made morning routines a challenge.
They wanted a modern, practical bathroom that could handle the demands of a busy household while creating a relaxing retreat for the end of the day. Storage was a key concern, as was improving natural light in what had become a dark, cramped space.
Our Process
We began with a thorough consultation to understand exactly what the family needed. After measuring the space and discussing options, we created a design that maximised every inch while maintaining a spacious feel.
Key decisions included:
- Replacing the bath with a spacious walk-in shower enclosure to free up floor space
- Installing a wall-hung vanity unit with integrated storage
- Using large-format tiles to create a sense of openness
- Adding heated towel rails for everyday comfort
- Upgrading all plumbing to improve water pressure
The entire project was completed in 8 working days, with the family kept informed at every stage. We ensured the bathroom was functional at the end of each day, minimising disruption to their routine.
The Result
The transformation exceeded our clients' expectations. The new bathroom feels twice the size of the original, with clean lines and a sophisticated neutral palette that won't date quickly.
The walk-in shower provides ample space for the whole family, while the wall-hung furniture and concealed cistern toilet give a sleek, contemporary look. Underfloor heating was added as a final touch, ensuring warm feet on cold winter mornings.
